Took the beast down to Morges for the British Classic car show - and then onto Divonne for an evening of excellent food/wine - and a morning of french market shopping. On the way down we did a slight detour to drive the Saint Cergue road (up and down). Filling up on the Saturday the car needed <28 litres, having covered 320km. (8.6l/100km or 32.8mpg) On the flipside - the engine warning light came on again on the way up the Saint Cergue road - and the PAS reservoir is still weeping round the top O-Ring connector

Sounds like a great drive save for the warning light and leak. Do you have an OBD code reader to tell you what the fault code is?

Hi Ken, Just to say that my S1 had what I thought was a complete failure of power steering pump, but it was in fact a fractured hose-pipe. So good news is that a relatively "cheap" repair. The downside is that its been at the garage since 10th July waiting for a new one from Morgan !! ps It seems the hose failure is not uncommon

Taffy - which part are you waiting on? When I spoke to the factory they had 10 return pipes in production - and would move one to parts - and send to me if I needed it (I didn't). My weeping is around the 0-ring where the return pipe connects with the reservoir.

On the flipside - the engine warning light came on again on the way up the Saint Cergue road If you have an Android phone I can thoroughly recomend the Torque OBD II. The free version will tell you what most fault codes are and allow you to re-set them if you feel that is wise. I forked out the very small charge for the Pro version which is quite different and has many more functions. http://torque-bhp.com/https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=enYou will also need a Bluetooth adaptor something like this. http://www.amazon.it/SHS-Bluetooth-Scann...=bluetooth+obd2At least with this setup you can decide if it is something serious that needs attention at the dealer's workshop or something unimportant such as a bad reading on the post cat sonda lambda sensor.

I don't have android - nor will I be moving to it for the OBD reader! I will be looking though what is on the market.
I suspect it is post cat as you say - it was a long run up the hill holding it in 2nd as I was backed up behind traffic for a while.

There are plenty of OBD 11 readers on eBay for around £15 and they work perfectly well.

Got my Bluetooth OBD reader on order. Common one in UK seems to be known as ELM327 appears to be the same one that Peter suggested. 6.99GBP plus 1.98 postage off Amazon.

A word of warning to Apple users. Apple is very "particular" about pairing with Bluetooth devices and, whilst there are OBD II readers available for iPhone and iPad I was told they would not work with the OBD II Bluetooth adaptor that I have. Out of curiosity I tried it with jnr's iPad and it could not even find the device. I have been told that there are wifi OBD II adaptors that will work but I have no experience of them. The Bluetooth works perfectly with both my Android phone and the Android tablet that I recently purchased so I did not have to borrow Jnr's iPad every time we go away ::)
