Zoros. Have driven c30,000 miles in my 4/4 with some epic trips to France & Spain. Forget about how smooth or how fast! Driving a Morgan is an adventure, an event and a delight. It is just a question of which Morgan suits you best.

+1. That why most us owned motor bikes in previous lives. It is about fun not hermetically sealed tin cans

I regularly drive the 260 miles to my cottage and arrive as fresh as a daisy. Drove to Le Mans recently no problem. You only noticed the firmer suspension on the really bad roads.

Last year, I and MrsW drove to Kent from Yorkshire in our Golf GTD. A week or two later we did the same trip in our Roadster and both agreed that the trip was much more enjoyable in the Roadster with the top down. This year we have done 7.5 hours from Fort William to Yorkshire with one stop, after a week of touring Scotland (Plus4 this time). More recently we did a four day trip to Devon - six hours each way with one stop. All with the roof down unless the rain is torrential and we both love it. Hard suspension? Quite frankly - better than an MGB. It can crash over rough surfaces but most of the time it's composed. There's nothing to dislike in the context of the design, and that's where critics overlook the fact that it's pre war in origin and doesn't try to be sophisticated. It's the best car choice I've ever made. Initially a slow burn, but they get into your blood over time for reasons that are not clear. Go to Oakmere for a starter, they will look after you.

When I was thinking of getting a Morgan, I was advised to join the Morgan Sports Car Club - I did and the magazines were helpful with cars for sale etc. also the local centre was brilliant with advice. Go for some test drives, look round the factory at Malvern, visit some dealers & don`t forget the cheque book - if you love one, you will buy it. I have never regretted mine. Don`t discount the 4/4s( you could get a new one for just over 30K - built to your spec. and the pleasure of watching it being built). Roadsters & plus 4s are good to. My 4/4 sport is cheap to insure, 0-60 in about 7.8 secs, top speed of 120, £130 tax p year and does about 50 to the gallon. Plus more smiles per gallon than anything else I can think of. Good luck

I find that I can do longer distances non stop in the Morgan than I can in the Alfa. My wife and I have just completed a 4,000 km trip to Portugal and back. Included in that were some fairly long days.
In the southern European climate with really hot weather aircon may not be essential but it is very nice to have. Aircon is only available as an option on the Plus 4 and up.

Morgan. The only car in which you start looking for a longer way round to your destination......however far you've driven, however long you've owned it and whichever model it is. It's true, I promise you. Nick
