Yes i fill through the orange plug, the other seems to low,not enough oil.if the orange plug is wrong & its over filling the bb box,no problem, the extra oil will leak out from the breather.over filling is better than low oil, gears might get damaged

Paul, I used the ventilation hole making the job without removing anything in 10 minutes. Just use a bottle with a plastic tube connected and pressure the oil in.

Sounds like someone could invent a simple kit. Plastic bottle containing, or marked, for the correct volume of oil, and a plastic tube that fits to the bottle and fits, perhaps with an adapter plug, to the breather plug hole.

At a reasonable price I bet you would have a few takers.

Peter, I think you must be a man who can spot an opportunity at 100 paces? I use a pressurized bleeding kit for my brakes, I wonder if it would work with gear oil?

I have an oil syringe for doing just such a job, looks like a grease gun with a plastic tube sticking out the front and without the side leaver. Bought it in the late 70's, probably still available somewhere.

I'm using the same rig that Atalante shows but I had a major disaster when I blew off one of the hoses and ended up with RedLine all over the rear. I see the hose clamps, but I went one step further and drilled all the connections and used I/16" pins to keep the whole rig together--works a treat.

to do with a plastic bottle

must put a piece of metal tube at the start of the hose.
