Very explicit, thanks Terry.

I am still wondering if the whole pedal assembly can be moved across to the right even more, so that the accelerator pedal is a few mm from the side panel, so that there could be enough room alongside the clutch to rest a left foot? It will be tight, but may be doable. Sadly your picture just cuts out the right side of the accelerator pedal, so the distance from the side can't be seen, although it looks as if it is across pretty well all the way.

If this is so, I am certain that the accelerator pedal can be moved slightly closer to the brake pedal, and still be operable, so the assembly can be moved to the right some more, thus releasing a little more room on the left for the clutch foot to slide down alongside the clutch pedal.

I can see a few hours in the garage coming up.

Good luck Paul J, but you may have to have different shaped legs and feet than most members of the human race to achieve this (imho).

I've found a way of resting the outside of my left leg on the transmission tunnel with my clutch foot resting on the floor which seems reasonably comfy although I have usually had enough after an hour or so behind the wheel.

Good luck though if you do start drilling holes!

Maybe I shouldn't, but I now rest my foot on the clutch pedal. My leg seems to be in a positions where I can do this without depressing it much !!!
Time will tell

It could damage the clutch release bearing Terry, even though you think you are not pressing, even a little pressure could be bad. I would not let my foot anywhere near the clutch pedal. I tend to drive with my left leg bent at the knee and up alongside the trans. tunnel whilst on longer trips, like down to Sidmouth for example. [Do owners go more than an hour at a time? notworthy]

Perhaps that's why the originals had hand throttles = more room in the footwell stirpot

4 hours and 20 minutes Leeds to Portsmouth non stop. No aches, stiffness or numb bum, I was well impressed.
I do what you do Paul, left knee bent and my leg resting against the trans. tunnel.

I have a 25mm for the steering wheel. Yes it does bring it closer to your body but I don't find that a problem in any way. It allows me to get my foot off the clutch completely. It has advantage that I no longer remove the wheel to get out & on righthand drive cars its easier to get the key in.

Some Daleks wanted to buy an M3W for hurtling around a distant planet they had taken over after the new Dr went completely insane (figuring that parts and servicing were no harder to get there than lots of places on Earth).

But they couldn't get a comfy driving position and the lack of doors meant getting in was very tricky for them. They really liked the bomb release button though.

The S&S engine wouldn't run very well on that planet either due to Oxygen starvation. On the upside the lower gravity meant that the M3W could be homologated as a sub 450 kg trike as some people seem to prefer.

Oh well - just another reason Daleks are not going to rule the Universe while Morgans exist to mess up their plans.
