I think the LeMans62 cars had aluminium boxes, but after that they were plastic. You'll get one on factory order but expect ££££££££. It may be cheaper to have one made from aluminium.
(as I understand it)The LeMans62 was the first production car to have over-riders and the front number plate box is as Dave says Aluminium, it is certainly a piece of art as it combines as an under cowl that runs back to the cross member and attaches to the 'brackets' that hold the over-riders. A nicely engineered solution but I would imagine tricky to fabricate and no doubt V.Expensive!
How about de-cluttering all together and fit a 'stick on' number plate to the wing?

Firstly, apologies to all - I didn't realise QUITE how much pent-up passion I was going to release with the "naked or dressed" comment.....
I did think of going for the stick-on numberplate on the front wing, but I'm concerned about its (lack of?) legality, in spite of it being a common practice. That's not a problem per se, but if I end up feeling the grasp of HM Constabulary upon my collar, I don't want to give them even more reasons to go over the car with a fine-tooth comb
All trad Morgan should have bumpers, otherwise people go and fit those silly front skirts and make it look like a girly car.
Also, when you reverse back into a low bollard in Brittany, you will end up with lots of damage rather than just a bent bumper bracket.. . . Not that I have ever reversed back into a low bollard in Brittany that is!
I absolutely prefer the clean look, remove the clutter and enjoy
I loved the clean uncluttered pure profile of my 4/4 Sport - I'm all for the Brazillian job on your +8 and shall watch with interest -to the originator of this post.

Can anyone who has a recent full bumpered plus 4 or 4/4 please tell me, is the rear number plate mounting which appears to be stuck to the rear bumper actually attached to the bumper or does it have brackets which go under the bumper then attach to the rear of the vehicle?
