Yes...caught out in the rain, had to stop and put the hood up.

It leaked.
Doesn't normally!

Bit of checking when we had got to where we were going: the front rail wasn't fully seated on the screen, allowing water to enter at the top. Yes, the catches were done up.

A thin smear of rubber lubricant on the rubber seal and a bit of adjustment to the caatches and normal dryness is resumed.

I'm certain that the main cause of leaking "Easy Up" Hoods lack of carefull adjustment. As with much Morgan, you have to have a 1960s maintainance mentality to understand them.

It seemed to be an isolated heavy shower over Salisbury, about 11am....

Not forecast, either. What do they know?

Dry sunny day in Cheltenham.
So, apart from hanging out the washing, spent a happy hour under the Mog smile

I can't say the weather matters much to me personally but if I can avoid a lapful of water I will.

The dilemma is this - I don't really want to wreck the leather on the scuttle and when I received this from a friend in the German Morgan Group it made me think of maybe building something smilar, it could avoid the lapful and certainly leaves the leather intact. It looks a little too modern in the lines it uses but this could be modified, in principle a good idea .
I have a friend with a serious engineering company who would let me use his facilities or build it for me.

p.s. Spares and then Racing screens is the route on their site.

Bit of thread drift here, in typical TM style.

Richard. I believe Borghi sources his folding windscreen system from Morgan Park but fits the Aero screens on a stainless band that does not involve drilling any new holes in the car. All it needs is longer screws on the studs for the tonneau cover.

This set up is flippin gorgeous !! How come a chap in Hamberg is making them ?

I guess he gets up a little earlier than everyone else.

Having looked at both systems I am inclined to take a mix of both these systems. Do away with the screen and mount the Brooklands screens and mirror to a stainless bar but utilise the existing screen bases to mount it with, beneath the strip of stainless use a flat U section neoprene seal to form a small barrier to light rain and protect the scuttle. This is what morganpark have done with theirs - their system just looks a little too modern for me oldgit but beautifully executed.

Personally the folded screen doesn't work visually so it has to go totally. I've never been easy to please.

This way I can return the car to normal screen and roof leaving it unmolested having removed the bar holding the screens and mirror, that's the theory anyway we'll see how the patience lasts.
Time for a few measurements and drawing then a visit to my mate.

Drove to Kingsbridge for a haircut and for those who have met me not telling you which one, then to Dartmouth on the coast road, as ever lovely drive and spectacular scenery, rang a new friend and invited for a cuppa and spent the afternoon taking down an old greenhouse... Back early evening with high winds , debris but not the forecast rains.

A great drive and nice day

Took the 86 plus 8 down to a sports bar to watch my old college football (american) team lose . . . again. Glorious drive, but lousy sport.

Cheers,
