Does anyone have any experience having a Librands roll bar fitted? I'm looking to fit one to a new Roadster and am wondering if anyone has had one fitted. Are they difficult to fit? Does the car need major modification? Once fitted do they restrict space / usability? Does one need to inform one's insurance company? Any information would be gratefully recieved. Thanks

You should inform your insurance co of any mods however small as it gives them less wriggle room.i have heard of several instances where they have refused pay out because of tow bars not declared.

Had mine fitted by Williams - see chunky above.
Day and a half to fit and top job.
Austin later modified my tonneau to fit - when he started there a few months later.
No issues with loss of room...both dogs still love the trips out with no complaints about room to lie down ( spaniels).
Roof fits fine.
Car also feels tighter with less flex, less chassis twist over uneven surfaces.
A bit more chrome to polish....

I haven't tested it out in a rollover yet though.... doh

Re insurance......Gott & Wynn informed and no issues.
Why fit it?
In 2013 we had a diesel moment on a roundabout whilst on Windermere weekend with the back end twitching " nicely"!
Another Taffmogger came across a couple of cars in an RTC on the M6 on his way home and at the next noggin we discussed fitting them.
3 of us went ahead.
Ray - already had a Safety Products one on his plus8.
I lowered my seat to increase head clearance with the added bonus of lowering my eye line which enhances the over bonnet view.
I wonder.....could I fashion a "short hood" from the screen back to it as an alternative to a full hood? No sides - just a " roof" like a reverse targa top. Be handy in showery/ hot weather.

I had one fitted to my last car and as already mentioned it firms up the car nicely.
Couple of things to watch out for.
The rear visibility is slightly impaired, not much, and I had the rear strengthening bar fitted, comes with the kit, which provides additional bracing and also somewhere to attach 4 point harnesses. Rob Wells told me that this isn't really needed for road use as the bar provides sufficient protection without but if you do have this installed it does reduce the size of squashy bags you can fit on the parcel shelf.
Had my tonneau altered, took an hour, and very happy with everything. Fortunately never tested its crash worthiness.
