I do not like this kind of stuff at all. Texas is the land of freedom, opportunity, independence, and minimal regulations. What the f**k is going on? I am going to give Congressman Lamar Smith [U.S. House of Representatives for the 21st District of Texas] a call to get the “real” information on this stupidity.
Damn “carpet baggers” are starting to influence our way of life; they move here and bring their bull s**t ways and stupid thinking with them. If this kind of stuff continues, we will have income taxes too.
Whilst it is not good news, I have often wondered how the likes of the Morgan and the Polaris have managed to squeeze through the motorcycle loophole? They are patently NOT motorcycles, or even bike based trikes, they are cars with three wheels, but legislators around the world seem to turn a blind eye to them, great for us, as we would not have such interesting vehicles, but difficult to understand in these highly legislated times.
Dear Paul! Around the world lots of 3-wheelers are classified as motorcycles. From the TucTuc in India to the small supply trikes in Italy - they are all based on bike-engines and technology
Hannes once: Green M3W; 2013 now: Red 4/4 Sport; 2011 and some practical cars for use in real life
with upcoming cars like Elio who are working on old legislation, it will be interesting to see how this all panes out. With soo many three wheelers coming to the market in the US, I knew it was only a matter of time before this happened.
The plus in america is that 3 wheelers are classified as a motorcycle and as such are not held to the same regulations and more importantly the same crash testing requirements of a car.
You had better believe that if Elio starts to become a success that the big automakers will push on legislation to changes the laws to disallow them.
If and when this happens, America (one of the biggest markets for M3W) could once again ban the sales of Morgans.
