Sounds like you're having fun Peter! Somebody I met in the summer with his +8 said he always took care when the temperatures were really cold to make sure the tyres were warmed up before he hit the loud pedal as it tended to be quite twitchy if he didn't!

Roger I've already been warned by somone who lost his Plus 8 in the cold and went gently through a hedge backwards into a field....
The Plus 8 has such an excess of power and torque that the application of power needs to be done with care at all times, in some ways the Auto box helps as it isn't as easy to make a clumsy gear change and so brake traction, although the auto box can change down at less than helpful moments!

Peter - having driven the +8 Speedster I can confirm what an excess of power there is under the right foot and that was being limited to just 4000rpm as it only 50 miles on the clock! Have to say it's very addictive! Might have to explain to that I sold off part of one of the holiday cottages to buy one!

Oh yes, left home in Essex at 4 am in the loan car from Newtown Motors to go to Cwmbran to pick up Ruby who has had her Wings sorted at the factory Left Cwmbran at 10am in Ruby top down for the 200 miles to home. Glorious weather cloudless blue sky all the way until 20 miles from home when it fell down kept going and kept dry arrived home 13.50 not bad. So glad to have her back

322 miles today starting from home near Chipping Norton, through the Cotswolds, into Wales, a big chunk of the Brecon Beacons and then back home via Cheltenham. I got the car back on Monday after some time back at the factory so decided it needed a thorough shake down to check everything was now as it should be. Pleased to say the car is now how I expected to be and thanks need to be given to the dealer, RTCC, who not only had the pleasure of dealing with the factory but also finished the car where Morgan couldn't be bothered. Can recommend both the drive and RTCC.

It's great that you're enjoying the car, but I do wish you wouldn't write stuff like this, Peter! I'm now figuring out how to scrape together sufficient funds to go shopping. Probably a pipe dream for a year or two, but you never know, my premium bonds might come up...

All I seem to win these days is 25 quid about every 3 months, so yes, it could be a very long wait indeed! Ah well, a chap can dream...
