ok i will start out saying i found the the performance of the morgan was just fine. i didn't feel it was underpowered. but i am confused on the hp. is it making the 115 and the 85 hp is at the wheel. or is it 85 at the crank. and if you want the 115 is it just the breathing of the engine do you need straight pipes and open air cleaner. and is the breathing trouble made to make it legal in most places. I'm in South Carolina and there are no smog laws here. but at same time i found the factory pipes where loud enough and the power was fine for what i want to do, which is ride back roads .

I think to get back the 25hp robbed between pre-production and customer cars you would need an ECU re-map as a minimum.
I have a decent air filter and straight through pipes but occasionally find myself thinking "come on, come on", when a bit more poke would have been nice.

I too need more bhp! A 2 liter engine and only 82hp is more anachronistic than the look of the M3W

thanks, mine is on order and i don't think i will do any big bore stuff but i might want to make it breath better, but i does fill like its more then 82 hp. i was going up tp 80 mph on the interstate and had no trouble keeping up in traffic or passing. i guess its the torque it feels faster then it is.

I was told when I picked my 3W up from MMC that the 115 was at the flywheel and the 85 at the back wheel. I am just surprised that the transmission losses are that great - 26%. I would have expected 5% loss in the BB and similar in the gearbox depending upon which gear you are in - less in direct drive. That makes a lot of loss in that drive belt. Does it get hot?

I fear that we can get to 115 hp only with air filter and vacuum exhaust pipe with the cam shaft 545 original, even with the ecu remap. It may be that I am wrong.
it is still interesting to get the rpm range without problems of ignition timing until 5750 rpm keeping its first force rpm to increase its usable rev range.

i have never had a motorcycle so don't know how they really ride , much less a 3 wheeler but the morgan felt faster then if it was making only 85 hp at the flywheel. i would say it is making 100 to 115 at the flywheel and the 80 something at the wheel. it felt plenty fast had enough pickup till around 90 mph.

I would wait and see what the claimed outputs are for the Factory Stage 1, 2 and 3 mods are. From what I've been told Stage 1 boosts BHP then its more a case of improved torque.
I think the car feels great as standard, but more power has got to make an improvement so long as everything else, including the driver, can handle it

The power is, like a motorbike, measured at the rear wheel on the Three Wheeler.
