thanks, mine is on order and i don't think i will do any big bore stuff but i might want to make it breath better, but i does fill like its more then 82 hp. i was going up tp 80 mph on the interstate and had no trouble keeping up in traffic or passing. i guess its the torque it feels faster then it is.
I did replace the stock air cleaner with the "Muscle" air cleaner from S&S. It does breathe easier and respond quicker. Because of the leanness of the air/fuel mix it may be increasing the exhaust temps. As for an increase of hp at the rear, I have no idea.
That being said, the change does increase the likely hood of sucking in more water when out in a chance shower. The stock unit only takes in air from the bottom of the 'hockey puck' which may help in avoiding that.
All things considered I have zero desire in increasing the existing horse power. I can still scratch in four gears, but now I don't. Replacing the rear tire is a pain as it is. It only took a thousand miles or so to learn how not to break it loose consistently!
