Hello
Question : our car will be travelling for 6 weeks in container to malaysia
To do a trip overthere for 3 weeks
Now the shipping firm told me that they disconect the battery and the car may ownly be filled with max 5 l of fuell due to safety regulations
So my question has anyone installed a battery kill switch on a 2008 +4 duratec engined morgan and what does it do to the computer in the car ?
Will the engine warning light come on ?
If so how to reset it and so on
Maybe some other problems ?

So in what place do you fit the battery kill switch ? Picture ?
Has the computer no memory for the throttle position ?
It will be switched of for at least 5 to 6 weeks and i am scared to have an issue overthere so i must be sure that it is no problem because i have no obd reader and there is no morgan dealer in malasia !

On the traditional we fit the switch on the panel just behind the driver/passenger seats.

Tom,
on my older cars they were where Lawrie says with a bypass (fused) to run the clock.
On my Rover T16 +4 switching off & on could lose the ECU memory but everyhing still worked. Kill switches are easy t owource on e bay as Mr Morgan's is a cheap example I was considering an upgrade before I was seduced by my 2006 Roadster.
I know other peole have shipped cars to the USA S Africa or NZ with no problem. Maybe you could try it at home over the winter first?

Disconnecting the battery clears the ECU of codes so actually it's of no issue.
Throttle body resets are a separate reset function normally not effected by disconnecting the battery.
Buy an OBD bluetooth dongle if you have an Android phone and get the app called Torque very handy for a multitude of car based functionality.

Hello,
I've fitted a battery kill switch on my 4/4 Sport (2009) in the horizontal panel behind the lefthand side seat ( driver seat, left hand steering). This switch is always on when the Morgan is at rest, sometimes for a few days or even weeks.
I've never had a problem in restarting the engine or ECU problems while driving.
