I am no expert in welding, correct me if I am wrong, but those welding looks poor!

Hopefully it all works as it should now, Mario. I didn't think in my wildest dreams that it would take this long!!! Seems an age since meeting you, your wife and XF 14 AEF!!!!

It looks to me like a secondary weld ...over the primary weld ...if it is it's a cheap quick fix...and might not last:((

I feel the same Mario! It seems a long time ago since I saw you and your wife off from the factory on this long journey of frustration and "discovery"! You know my feelings on the matter....which I won't air here.

The wiring shows another example of MMCs lack of attention to detail. I suppose they expect owners not to go out in the rain. I just wonder why anyone would even consider buying a M3W.

Not an M3W owner and not knowledgable about them but......
Are the exhausts bought in or made in- house?
The RH one looks to be a different curve to the LH one when they should be symmetrical?
I assume a jig is used to weld them up?
Is the pipe bending done in a CNC type bender or by hand and eye?
Cracking.....either poor welding/ wrong filler metal or vibratory stresses or both.
Good quality management should prevent these things happening by proper design of the parts themselves well before actual production and their manufacturing process designed to prevent poor parts and then subsequently monitored by a sampling regime properly set up.
If an outside supplier is used then are they tackled about parts out of spec( assuming a correct spec/ tolerance has initially been set). If in- house the internal issues need to be tackled.
Maybe the on- going issues could have been avoided?
Rushing through the design/ spec stage can lead to costly future problems both £££ and customer confidence.
The M3W is a real showstopper for Morgan but sadly seems to have been plagued by design/ quality issues.
I now wait for the backlash!

Certainly right but there are always solutions for avoid break.
And we we hope to drive ours toys without big stress.

Or, like me you finally gave up the mental struggle of not knowing if you will be driving back from a trip or returning on the back of a lorry.

However, I have an idea and I'm looking for a cheap or badly damaged Three Wheeler and with the help of Empire Racing, we may be able to make an 'Empireised' Morgan Three Wheeler with a properly fabricated light but strong spaceframe chassis, optimised suspension, and oily bits that work quietly and reliably.

If this ever gets off the ground, words and pictures of the progress will all be on here, but it could be a long term project though.

This weekend XF14AEF finally had its "sporting career" started. Among the excellent company of Jags, Triumphs, 4-wheeled Morgans, Austin Healeys, Lotus, etc, I entered it in an "English Classic Cars" event, with my trike getting the usual "waiver" to enter it despite being only a few months old, not 30+ years

It went well, but for my sloppy driving (to my defense I must say that I entered the track to do the mandatory 3 laps without any prior knowledge of its layout), and also for the lack of the SUPLEX kit. The car is still with the Spax units, definitely softer and allowing much more front body roll and understeer than what I was used to. Couple of Blockleys should help too, and maybe some fine-tuning of the front is needed.

As is, my M3W is an understeering beast in tight corners. I could actually see the front wheel sliding to the outside as the front wanted to go its own way. And, maybe because I was with my son and navigator, therefore with the weight of 2 persons at the back, I never managed to make the rear end step out mid corner to compensate.

Anyway, it was great fun. Here the video of the start and the final (3rd) lap. First part filmed from the outside (low resolution and very shaky camera work), second part is the onboard footage I got with my gopro.

For the record ... we won in this "Bapteme du Feu" of my beloved trike! with ZERO penalty points.
