A car is built the first time, and can be rebuilt again if enough time and money is lavished on it. But do check it out carefully with an expert.

I dropped them a email on Friday with a few questions. No response so far but I'll let you all know if they come back to me.

Very good spot, looks like new, however I suspect that although you may get a lot of car for your money the fact it is a Cat D write off may affect future values. This is probably factored into that price.

I think it looks lovely in the photos. If you can satisfy yourself that it's been properly fixed and you're planning on keeping it, who cares if the resale value is less. As you say, it's reflected in the purchase price.

The Morgan badge is usually just glued over the top of the cast-in BMW lettering. In the engine bay photo of the for sale car, you can see what looks like the remains of the adhesive where the Morgan engine badge was removed. Strange.

Not really Stuart, if you think about it, the seller is more likely not to be a MORGAN MAN, so he doesn't identify with the possibility the car could hold a Morgan engine, he removes the decal to show case the quality BMW Mechanics......a good selling point in his view

Almost everything that was glued on my 2009 Sport fell off during my 25,000mls in it - the list is endless so I wouldn't pay too much attention to an engine label that has been subjected to a lot of thermal dynamics...

A laser check on the chassis would be a far more constructive area to be thinking about.

You could probably pick up a beamer lump for a couple of k out of a salesmans written off company wheels worse come to worst.
