The short shift kit also removes the vibration isolator half way up the stick so makes it even shorter - with patience and creativity you can remove it yourself and save yourself the cost of the kit. It is best to remove the entire stick and leather shroud from the gearbox/tunnel though as any mestakes have big impacts.
This momo gear knob sits very low on the stick as well and is weighty enough to smooth out the shift a little given you have to put more arm into it.
Looks the dogs vab leaving mine standard as the wife struggled a bit with reverse with the short shift,the handbrake is a two man job so this may just tip her over the edge.....
I agree with Mike. I hate fiddly little grub screws which so easily strip. Easier to line up a badge or engraved topped knob but I'd still go for a good screw thread.
I'd also love a very delicate gear lever and knob rather than the hefty things they fit these days. I was sitting in an early Lotus Elite a couple of months ago and that has a lovely delicate lever.
