Jay, you are not wrong... unter winter conditions, we have to use winter tyres. Let's say that most of the roads i took were dry and free of ice. It is allowed under these conditions to use summer tyres. The problem starts, if you find yourself suddenly in winter conditions.

Narrow tyres are much more use in deep snow. 205 seem very wide.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Stewart, did a quick internet search and in seems as if the Nexen is the only available tyre in my size: 205/65/15. Is that possible? I think there are more options, this is one: Vreds

Just got back from a short run, wrapped up well and warm as toast. Went to Mumbles, had a Focaccia roll and Special Italian Hot Chocolate in Verdi 's. Then on to Port Eynon and back past King Arthur Hotel to Gowerton. Clear blue sky until clouds when near home. Roads were great. Scarlett running well, she needed a run as we are away in her next weekend in Ross on Wye area.

Today looks like being the best day for a week or so and about 90 miles through the Cotswolds helps keep everything working properly, me as well as the car. Almost felt guilty putting the heated seats on and adjusting the sun visors as I still haven't got used to such luxuries but being warm and able to see where I was going helped.

No...I'm in Derbyshire, Tarka is in Salisbury, tucked up in our garage and with electrons flowing into her cells so she is ready for me!
Minus 5c here and snow promised over night. Glad to be in my dull but worthy BMW with 4WD and winter tyres.

After being laid up for 5 weeks with a broken foot I was delighted to get out today in the Morgan. A beautiful day in Cheshire especially now I can walk normally - and more importantly drive the MOG !
