There does not seem to be much room in this area and I am not sure about cutting into the leather covering. I guess I am nervous about making a mess of it!

Suggest you look at a few Mogs so you can see the fitting

Thanks John. I probably need to take a closer look rather than a cursory glance.

My 2006 Roadster has speakers in the pillars forward of the doors & metal is cut away for them behind the carpet.

My 94 & 96 cars had speakers in the rear panelsjust aft of the door locks

You will probably find the speaker holes already cut into the footwell side panels and a lot of cars have the wiring in place. Good luck with the project.

In six years we've never had the radio on in the Roadster. If you can hear the radio you're not going fast enough.

Thanks for all those suggestions. I will look around the footwell to see if it has any apertures which could be used for speakers.
I have only just got the car so have not really had a chance to open up the throttle!
Cann't wait to see if the background noise v radio noise debate can be resolved in my opinion.
Looking forward to the forthcoming summer and getting out on the road. Come on you mogs!!
