My dealer wouldn't quote to fit them as aftermarket, said he has never done it

Out of interest, is it the seat back that is heated, or the base? I assume the back, since the base needs to be removeable if the car gets wet?

Nope, it's simply the base. Quick connect block and pigtail wire at rear of seat cushion. Seat lifts out & enough slack to pop connector apart if required..

Im in the states and after shipping and tax I'm in the 55 grand area. so a extra few hundred for heated seats isn't that much. its well worth the money, just order the heated seats.

I have a after market heated seats fitted by alon white. They were in my M3W before I bought it. I thought it to be a daft idea. And then I switched them on. Now I'm a convert.
