As you will probably guess from the signature a newbie from Belfast. The GT3 bit shows the wanderings I have into Porsche ownership but since having owned a Series 1 Aero 8 for two years (2004 -06) I just cannot shake the whole Morgan thing ! Therefore I will be returning in the form of a new 4/4 sport, build start date, week 6 2009, and delivery as soon as complete. Visiting the factory next Tuesday (for the first time) to confirm build spec and then sit patiently until collection. Stephen

Stephen, good choice to go for a trad. Welcome & please let us see some photos. I can imagine driving a Mog around the Mountains of Mourne & that fantastic coast line would be a great experience. John

Hi Dave Many thanks for the travelling arrangements! The colour will be Sport Gray, with a few extras, sports exhaust, sports suspensions, two eared spinners, round mirrors, moto lita wheel and luggage rack (??). Look forward to seeing your new 4/4 and will talk to phillip before hand to ensure a memorable day. Regards Stephen

Stephen I must admit all the colours except Blue work for me. The gray has been very popular with members of this site, it is unusual and very period imho. I went for the sports exhaust after a test drive, the standard system has been supressed to death. See you on Tuesday Dave

Hi Stephen and welcome. Do you still own the GT3? There are a few Porsche owners on here (GT3RS (997), 997 C2, 968CS, etc), so you're not the only Teutonic owner to feel the lure of Malvern! The 4/4 Sport is a lovely choice - like the Malvern equivalent of the CSL/RS concept.

Hi Simon and thanks for the kind welcome. The 997 GT3 Clubsport was sold last year (very low mileage as I never got the time to use it!) Since been replaced by 997 C4S with a grand total of 460 miles since getting it in June(the toy) whilst continuing to keep a 987 Boxster (SWMBO) and ML 320 (work) for daily duties. Really looking forward to getting back into a morgan though and hence my visit tomorrow to the factory although really afraid that once I see an Aeromax all things tuetonic could come to an abrupt end !! We ill see. Temptation temptation.

The AeroMax is a mobile sculpture and it would be hard not be won over by it's charms once you see one in the metal. That said, all 100 are sold, so it may be easier to resist the lure. So where does the 4/4 Sport fit into the garage? Does it replace the vacant slot left by the utterly brilliant GT3? Something visceral and filled with sense of occasion when you get behind the wheel?

Simon Spot on! The GT3 is a remarkable driving machine and yes the 4/4 sport is there to replace a sense of occassion every time I drive it. I can also add it will definately be used more, as I am learning that to drive and admire, is much better than just to have a garage queen. Will hopefully be able to post pictures of factory visit after tomorrow and get an update on the build of the sport as well. Stephen

Stephen, Welcome! I also have had the Porsche bug and presently own a C4s here in the states. You are right the Morgan is a tough habit to break.I like your comment about driving and not keeping your machine as a garage queen as I feel exactly that way as well. Hope your Morgan is in your garage soon!
