I had a Mark 1 New Mini - Cooper S (the one used as the icon for this forum  ) and it was one of the most enjoyable cars I've owned (especially when you consider fun factor per £). I was sorry to see it go and still have moments where I'd like to buy another. Great to see you using it on the Ring

it will be my track-day car untill I'm really familiar with my Roadster (which is prepped with steel-brain-hoses/race-fluid, rollcage...)

no probs,
though we did only push the car in the turns,
not on the "allmost-straights",
i'm not at ease on the ring at +150km/h
the camber changes all the time...

went to a race-circuit,
2 weeks ago,
the MINI has not enough power to make it "funny"
a powerfull rearwheel drive would be less efficient
but more fun
the MINI had to much traction
although, at the end of the session the track got wet
and al de rear-wheel-driven cars went in to the pits
(except a 911GT3)

On the subject of small quick thingies..... Anybody tried the new Abarth 500 yet? I had five laps in the local dealers demo car last week... very impressive!!

back OT got JCW-brakes and Exhaust mounted on the MINI, breaking-in of the new pads/discs is almost done, brakes feel stronger  but not "more direct" as I hoped they wood, eh would  exhaust needs more KM to get louder  how long does it take to "open up"????
