I'm probably going to be a bit contraversial here, but ......

I keep wondering, what is the attraction of having the 4/4 Sports in Grey?

I think that all Morgans need to be in a bright colour such as Red, Blue or Ivory. Black can look stunning, and even Green, which has a British tradition. I suppose I am biased as I have had 2 Red Morgans.

But Grey obviously appeals to a lot of people, as so many are ordering the 4/4 Sports in this colour.

It is probably just a matter of individual's taste, but I wondered if anyone can explain the reasons behind their choice of that colour.

Grey owners / prospective owners - please don't take offence, it's just that I am genuinely interested.

Not bought one but looks OK to me sort of understated, I like the show car with that light tan upholstery, the colour thing maybe Morgan thought back to the Runabout which was not a great seller with restricted colour choice, if you do this then it has to appeal, red, brg, black, royal blue are the standards so be brave with something else.

My car is brg or connaught green depending on the sun (I know it is a long time since we saw it but I have hopes of a comeback) and I like it that way.

I will admit that my first thoughts for my new 4/4 sport was white, but I selected Grey as it was very different than most traditional colours associated with Morgan in the near past i.e Ivory, green, blue/silver and red. I also was greatly influenced by my last Aero 8 which although being two tone (Jaguar Silver Frost over Lotus Titanium wings) it still managed to retain a very retro grey pre war look that really suited the lines of a Morgan IMHO . At the end of the day colour will always be a very personal choice !

Hi Roger,
I was tempted to choose the grey colour because it reminded me of Jaguar XK120s and of industrial machinery of the 40s and 50s and it fits the lines of the car quite well. Maybe the decent colour leads the eye to the beautiful details of the interior and the chrome. But in the end I ordered a black one, which is kind of a non-colour, too. It´s a personal matter, anyway.

When I first saw the grey, I questioned it; however, Stephen's answer is very much in line with how my personal opinion of the grey 4/4 Sport has developed. To my mind, the grey makes the 4/4 sport a little more special - as it is a colour that you won't see on other 4/4s - also, it does lend itself to making the classic lines of the Morgan seem even older than it is (pre war as stated above).

I am rather the "yellow" type of guy but I find, that the Grey has "something"

i love the grey because it has a vintage feel.

Somehow the grey does look just right.
Shame you can't have a wooden dash & that the back doesn't have the circle for the spare.

One day when the Premium bonds come up maybe I'll have the dosh

Easily solved with a plank of wood and a set of tin-cutters
