Curveball idea. Morgan will launch the new Aero 8 using the 5.0l V8 from the new Ford Mustang. Makes sense as they use Ford engines in the 4/4, Plus 4 and the Roadster. That would be so cool. Hmm..a white Aero with 2 blue stripes, as per the Shelby Tuned Mustang... The Shelby Morgan!

In view of the magic that Cosworth perform on Ford engines, I think it would be great for a co-operation with MMC.
A Morgan-Cosworth? Now there's a thought.

"the 85th International Geneva Motorshow 2015 will play host to the world premiere of a new Morgan."
Before speculation and excitement levels get out of control, I think it would be wise to stop for a moment and just think what Morgan are saying here.
When they say "a new Morgan" are they talking about a model from one of the existing range, with a different engine, or different suspension, in which case, it is not a "new" model, but a modified existing car, or, on the other hand, do they mean what they say, which as we know isn't always the case with our favourite car manufacturer, in which case it could be anything. After all, who would have dreamed that Aerial would have come up with an off road vehicle?
My guess, and I hope I am wrong, is that it is an existing model with modifications, therefore, not in the true sense, a new model, but in calling it a "new car" they are merely trying to raise the level of anticipation. It looks as though they have succeeded.

So Paul - are you syaing that introducing a new headlight switch isn't worthy of it being a new model and launch at Geneva?

It's clearly an Aero if the pic is to be believed..
I'm pretty sure there are still BMW engines to use use up. I can't see Morgan spending out on major changes to engines when they have a supply they are still committed to.
So if it's an aero chassis with a bmw v8, with the old headlights, it's either a GTN style coupe special edition (my moey is on a stripped back version with the carbon seats etc) or Morgan have modified the rear again to create a fastback that looks different enough to an aeromax. However that has a signifcant cost in sheet metal forming that I'm not sure the company would want to bear..
Much easier to stick some aerodynamic additions onto standard bodywork Ali g with splitters and wings.
There have always been rumours about a gt3 version given how popular the race wins were, and Morgan has so far utterly failed to capitalise on that success.. Interesting that john w the designer at Mmc has been tweeting pics of the gt3 cars in between these teasers this week. Could be a coincidence...
And if bentley can sell a 2.5 tonne gt3 car for 200k surely Morgan can sell a much lighter one for a bit less...
I just think that though I would love to hear about a straight six or ford v8 it's just too much time effort and money on the aero platform when the factory has been squarely focussed on trade 3 wheelers and plus 8s according to all we have read over the last couple of years...

I spoke yesterday to someone (NOT Jays!!) who knows exactly what the car is. Very correctly he said nothing, other than to confirm my suspicion that the photo is NOT the car that will be on show (my guess it isn't quite finished), and implied it is built on an Aero Chassis.
From another source I understand that the remaining BMW motors MMC has are Euro 5 Compliant and so are good to sell in new cars registered before 1 September 2015, after that all new cars must have Euro 6 Conforming Gasoline Engines.
So MMC have 6 months to sell and register cars with the stock of Euro 5 engines...BUT only in Europe. I believe that after that date they can still be sold in the Middle East and China (does anyone know for sure?)
So I suspect they will sell out the BMWs without any real problems, there may be a few VERY special deals on pre-registered cars in the autumn as there is nothing to stop MMC making 5 or 10 or 15 Plus 8s and registering them all on 31st August 2015.....! Once registered they are used cars and can be sold after 1 September like any used car.

So Paul - are you syaing that introducing a new headlight switch isn't worthy of it being a new model and launch at Geneva? Ah, well, if it is that significant, then of course MMC can treat it as a new model, I was only thinking of minor things like engines, suspension and chassis'.
