What RedThree said - I also have it on very good authority that the engine does not in fact run lean either. The pinking/det is due to massive build-up of heat in the combustion chambers as a result of an exhaust that is completely bunged up. Engines run on the dyno (and on the road of course, but dyno cells tend to make it more obvious) in stock form det like bar-stewards and this is a very dangerous condition, as you are all only too aware. The free-flowing exhausts do not experience det in the same way as the fuelling suits that condition much better. I don't believe it's anywhere near perfect and there's much room for improvement, but it's a much SAFER condition for the engine overall. I know for sure which condition I'd prefer.....
.... but there is still room for an ECU re-map and it does seem that the factory are going to offer something on their Stage 2 and 3 kits - note that are NOT offering one for Stage-1 - I wonder why? I hope Garage56 move towards an ECU/remap for their future mods, as that would be the icing on the 'optimised' cake as far as I am concerned.

Does anyone have any idea when MMC are going to be releasing their Stage 1, 2 3 mods?

... and at what price? The numbers we saw on that leaked PDF were prices to the dealers and therefore without VAT or fitting, as far as I remember it.

I think I'll go for the MMC Stage 1 Kit including Pipes and Air Filter - gotta fix that fuel leakage that keeps spraying my windshield first, though...

You can make some improvements to the exhaust situation prior to the release of the Stage 1, 2 3 mods by removing the cats from the exhaust pipes. Once removed the exhaust has better flow and reduces the engine heat a bit as well. Also you get a slight improvement in exhaust note and maybe a bit more power. Combined with a high performance air cleaner the motor is much happier with less pinking.

I'm not sure why folks don't find a local exhaust manufacturer and get them to make up a bespoke system? If I'd kept my car, that is exactly what I was going to do, using some straight through absorbent silencers, and maybe a little fishtail/Brooklands style pipe aft of the silencer. I'm sure it won't cost any more than MMC are likely to sell them for, substantially less, I suspect.

Replace the four one-shot clamps with stainless screw driven clamps.
Then they can be tweaked and tightened and looked after.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
