Had a blast yesterday
Took the Morgan on a 120 mile round trip from home near Chorley to Horsforth Leeds to pick up a friend, then on to Bradford City to watch Bradford beat Sunderland in the FA cup
Side screens left at home with tonneau cover over the rear seats
Everyone thought I was bonkers taking the Morgan to Bradford, they were right of course I am bonkers, but they knew that already and it wasn't going to stop me.
Drove around Valley Parade football stadium before kickoff trying to find somewhere reasonably 'safe' to leave the car - after stopping to ask a few stewards, we were offered a secure car park right next to the ground with the car hidden behind a high wall on a business premises with a nice young chap who was doing up a Datsun 360 Z looking after things during the game.
Great game - probably the noisiest and visceral game I've ever experienced. It made our trip to Ewood Park to watch Blackburn destroy Stoke on the Saturday seem sedate in comparison
Came out just after full time to gridlock with thousands of supporters flooding past the car - plenty of comments and thumbs up and some Sunderland supporters in true football style chanting songs that included 'Chitty chittty bang bang'
For the first time ever in Morgan I just felt a twinge of vulnerability but all absolutely fine in the end thankfully
Enjoyed a great drive back on the A65 then on to A59 in the dark back home in the evening. Fur lined flying hat on, scarf wrapped tight and beaver tail Cold Weather Parker buttoned up
Boy! I slept well last night

Great to hear of your journey Eric mine pales in comparison just a 35 mile round trip via the farriers Alms in Mersam Kent as it was the third Sunday of the month where any driver turning up in a classic car gets a free drink! Another one next Sunday at the five bells East Brabourne. Life doesn't get any sweeter!

Ran the 86 Plus 8 down the highway about 200 miles to Lake Worth FL on Saturday morning. Went visiting on Saturday and attended a small car show on Sunday in Boca Raton FL. It was not without drama. The car's old battery gave out and I had to purchase a new on. It was 6 years old. Probably too old. Had the wife standing on the side of the road. And, it was Valentine's Day. How Romantic!!
The show was good with 4 Morgans, 1981 Plus 8, 2013 M3W, my 1986 Plus 8 and a 1967 Plus 4 DHC. The run back home after the show was about 215 miles and got cold after the sun went down. Had the wife bundled up and heater on. Top down of course.
Cheers,
Mark

Just had a lovely 60 miles round trip down the Fosse Way and back. Dry roads sun shining ...fantastic.
Now back to work feeling very good about the MOG!

Oh yes,
great day. Something must be wrong with the odometer! Went for a six mile journey but it reads that I did 66!

Beautiful sunny day, so had to take the newly polished Morgan out for a spin around the lanes of Peover, Mobberley and Wilmslow in Cheshire. Waved to another Mog on the roundabout south of Wilmslow - think it was green but he had clealy been polishing it too, so it was hard to tell the colour in the bright sunshine. Makes you think summer will soon be here! Best thing is - car was still clean on return!
