Does anyone know if the paint protection film used by Morgan is the 3M material and who fits it for them?
According to 3M it has a 7 year guarantee and on Tarka the film on the running boards is lifting, probably because they get rather hot. I'm not at all sure that putting it on the running boards was a good plan. (The reccomended way to remove the stuff is a heat gun...)
Thought I'd ask here before asking Morgan....

I have recently acquired a new +4 which was factory specified and has been fitted with paint protection. Amongst the paperwork it stated that it was "3M VentureShield Paint Protection Film". Further information can be had at www.covertechmidlands.comSir Percival

I had the film fitted by the factory but it is not as good as the guy who fits it to new cars at BHM sorry Peter but the name escapes me . I have seen the films fitted At BHM which will take out smudge marks with a little heat the film on my car is not as effective. Sarah at BHM has the details.

Hi Peter
Any Volvo bodyshop will have access to the part number for bumper protection film, so will car dealers but their parts staff may baulk at looking it up. It's made by 3M's and comes in a roll about 4" wide. The larger sheets are made by several companies, the one mentioned most often is Defendall. Shaun at Allon Whites is a trained fitter of the stuff and an all round good guy so I am sure he can help.
I use the 3M's roll on the sills of all my Trads from outside of the rubbing strip to cover the sill against heal marks. I remove it with a heat gun on low or a kettle of hot water also works. I had the film on the +8 for 5 years before changing it prior to sale and it came off no problem and with no residue, I put fresh on for the next owner.

There is a 3M VentureShield installer between me and Portsmouth, I think I'll wander over and see what he thinks is the best solution!
Thanks everyone for your help, as ever the answer is probably on Yalk Morgan!

Peter, buy it on eBay, make template and do it youself and save a packet, I did it on Rosie. You need a plastic card which has a silky material around it to smooth it out when putting it in. You wet the surface with slightly soapy water and when it dries it sticks, wash the car first. It's tricky, but works well with patience.

Had mine taken off, didn't like the look of it after a year on the car. Now investing the money in having the chips and scratches taken out every second year

The scuffs were something I raised with Morgan when I first looked at the car. It looked as though they had sorted it out, but the first time I washed the car the scuffs re-appeared. Better the plastic than the paint! But yes, I'll talk to Henry. Peter
