Unfortunately not. Yellow driving shoes are thin on the ground. I'll have to make do with black for the yellow occasions.

I haven't broken the red ones in yet either. Old blokes in red shoes look a bit knobbish. Give it time.

But are the shoes faster???

The sole grip goes up over the bottom of the heel, they are light, indeed they weigh next to nothing.

I have a pair of brown leather trainer style-ish shoes that were bought about 15 years ago. I remember wearing them when going to Cape Hope/ St Helena/ Dakar on a cruise in 2001.
They are lightwieght and fit like slippers and great for Mogging.
The soles still have good "tread".
I have taken them on many holidays etc,,,,,and changed the laces once, insoles twice.
I don't remember the make and no labels to remind me. They are not a "premium" designer type brand and I think bought in a factory outlet somewhere.
They are in great condition and likely to last a long time yet. Just kept clean and polished.

RED shoes would be......RED is a faster colour......hence the term

Last year I rent a plus four for a weekend and ruined my hand crafted calf leather sneakers with scratches and black marks. So the next day I used some black leather slippers that were a little bit narrower at the tip. With those driving was a pleasure, and no scratches occur. For the winter i will use some black sneakers from nike.

Yes the underside of the clutch and brake pedal can be rather rough on shoes if you put your toe under them. My favourite shoes got a nasty scratch in the toe the first time I used them. I have smoothed out some sharp edges and covered an unused tab with plastic.

I just use my normal casual shoes for driving the Morgan (Conkers Pilot Boots - hand made by hippies in Totnes), but the thought of buying a proper pair of driving shoes has crossed my mind on more than one occasion.

What has always stopped me is the thought of what to do when popping into town shopping, or out to a restaurant, or all the other things one uses a Morgan for when not simply 'going for a drive'. What do you guys do? Take a spare pair of proper shoes with you and change when you get there? Or wander round Waitrose / sit at your restaurant table resplendent in your Pilotis or whatever? I wonder if I'd feel a bit of a nob doing the latter, and I suspect I'm far too lazy to bother doing the former.

I notice Graham tends to change out of his driving shoes before venturing away from the car.......he's been very quiet about this topic!
