Agreed - and I am very pleased that my thoughts on a proper absorption type silencer have been proven correct! Whilst we are all only too aware that you can Never compare figures from one dyno to another, a 16bhp and 21torx increase is not to be sniffed at, but of more significance is steepness of the power curve and the feeling of a free-revving engine that that will give. The torque curve looks to be outstanding between 3500-5000rpm and remember it's the Area Under the Curve that makes a car quick and enjoyable to drive in terms of torque delivery. This output I suspect is very close to that of the initial demo and prototype cars that did the rounds in 2011 (evo magazine raved about how quick the car felt) and hats off the G56 for having the confidence to invest the time and effort into making a kit for the cars. I look forward to getting hold of a kit myself

Who are Garage 56? Is it an offshoot of Williams, are they a separate company and Williams are just a retail agent, are they a new company, do they 'do' other marques etc etc.
Does anyone know anything about them other than the little that has been published?

Does the cost they quote include fitting? It doesn't mention this, so assume not, but £1250 for an air intake and 2 metal pipes does seem a lot... even including the dreaded vat.
Do you get a remapped ecu or anything else?? I'll send Garage 56 an email asking as well...

Does anyone know anything about them other than the little that has been published? I met the guys at Autosport Intl at the NEC last month and they have an enviable background in all things motorsport it seems. They have formed a consultancy called Performance Projects that focusses on a lot of aspects of automotive design, innovation and from what I can gleen, are keen to develop products for niche markets such as the 3W. The 2 chaps I met are the founders (Chris and Terence) and in previous lives worked for the likes of Mallock, Cosworth, Renault F1, and Toyota F1, so their credentials are very good. In fact I probably spent rather too long chatting to them both, not just about the 3W kit but also other work they've done - I hope they didn't mind! Their website certainly reads well - Performance-Projects Ltd I think Williams are just the supplying dealer and I suspect as many people are aware, Williams' image is that of a slightly more flexible, less traditional dealer for Morgan and have always been keen to do something different. Probably makes sense to market these through an organisation geared up to offer the full sales, fitting, aftermarket package, as I don't believe PP will be geared quite as effectively that way, being more a consultancy. I personally have no links to G56, except that we bumped into eachother during my search for someone willing to make a decent exhaust for the cars. That they took the idea and extended that into a full blown and properly developed Stage-1 Kit is all the better for us! If they decide to make moves to look at the ECU as well, then there's no doubt that they have the knowledge and experience to do a first rate job of it. I'm very pleased that finally there seems to be someone in the M3W mix with the ability to make things work properly, outside of the factory. I perhaps see that G56 are to the engine side of things as Empire are to suspension development.

My son worked alongside Chris Horton at Cosworth. Strange how small this automotive world is, isn't it..?

Word of warning if you are considering entering Morgan three wheeler club events with a car fitted with non - Morgan sourced parts like this - under the sporting formula which describes what class a car will fall into depending on its level of modification , cars with non Morgan parts are specifically excluded.
I gasped slightly when I read it , but thems the rules.

From the leaked Aero Racing bulletin in July 2014 it was £716.45 (£850 with VAT). From the Williams Parts website the pic of the Garage56 kit shows new silencer mounts so I guess fitting is a bit more than a bolt off bolt on job.

I'm surprised that there's not simple Modified Class for those cars with bits not sanctioned by MMC, as even 3W's with the much praised Empire Kit would be excluded then. Shame, as all this is in the overall interest of everyone really - customers and factory alike.

Shame, as all this is in the overall interest of everyone really - customers and factory alike. From the MTWC Bulletin - the "Track Modified" class allows non-Morgan free flowing silencers. It also refers to a "Free Flowing" Air filter, no mention of it being from Morgan. So it would appear a Garage56 modded M3W could take part in the club events but only in the "top" class. As R1NGA points out - steering has to be "as original Morgan" so that would appear to rule out Empire kitted cars.
