I have a problem with the digital readout which I hope someone has a solution....

On switching on the ignition, the digital readout displays the odometer and distance covered. But when I start the engine, all that disappears and a readout of "Bulb burnt" appears instead! (None of the bulbs are burnt!!!)

This message will be displayed continually for many miles without reverting back to the odometer/distance travelled readout.

Has anyone experienced this with any of their Aeros? And if you did, how did you fix the problem? Secondly, would replacing the on-board computer solve the issue?

Not casting doubts on your checks but I have been caught out on other cars (none Morgan's) with bulb failure devices. Many work by measuring the resistance in the circuit, sometimes even a different brand of bulb can trigger it but if you have not recently changed a bulb that's unlikely? Another and more common reason is we look at a lamp and its lit, we say the bulbs OK but we miss that there is sometimes more than one bulb in the lamp especially with longer lamp bodies, its entirely possible for one of the bulbs to blow and the failure to be alerted but its not visible to a quick look, if the lenses can come off with ease or access to the rear of the lamp is simple than check them that way otherwise, and it sounds daft but works, getting up close to the lamp with sun glasses on to protect against glare will often show a dull area through the coloured lense. Hope that helps.

All the bulbs on the car are still the original ones from new; and the only thing I have fitted to the car [from new] is an ignition immobilizer! Surely that can't be the cause, or can it ... ?

Anyway, I will book the car in to an auto electrician and show him the annoying problem. I'm sure it's such a silly/pathetic thing that's causing all this aggro! mad

Quick and dirty solution.
Keep pressed for a few seconds the button placed on the end of the indicator/light talk and the message should disappear.

I noticed that this happens when the board computer recognizes a "weird" electric consumption. From when I switch on the engine with headlights off, it never happened again.

For sure it's working when you start the cruise control and you get the morgan wings in the small screen but I am pretty sure that the same was with the horrible

Ale, we had a French visitor here last year with his Aero. The battery kept going flat overnight and when tested at the elettrauto we discovered that he had a mysterious drain on the battery with the ignition off and the key out. The battery was discovered to be old and less than 100%. As soon as it was replaced with a new battery the problem went away. Very strange, but I am wondering if your battery is not quite up to the full voltage and that this may be causing a problem until, after running for a while, it gets fully charged.

By the way are your going to Geneva?

Ciao,
Vincenzo confirmed me that it is because of xenon headlights.
I do not think I'll make it to Geneve, but if a Saturday Morning you want a coffe, Gigi will pay for it smile smile

Same here. I will do it mid March so I get rid of winter tires at the same time.
