Since 1974 I have called our 4/4 4 pass many, many names. Depended upon how bad my knuckles were skinned. My wife calls her "Nellie".
My 52 +4 under restoration is "Shillelagh". Part to honor my Irish heritage and partly because she should weigh about 1,600 pounds and have 150-160 horsepower. As I work on it there will probably be some other names used.

if it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

I will get my 4/4 in march, with a white body, black wings, black leather and black hood. So it is a very classic two tone. I will post a lot of photos when it has arrived. I guess this car is a male one, so i will call him gatsby.

i found this black and white combination so classic and to me it seems as an incarnation of a sports car of the 1930s. This black and white combination was very common in the 30s and 40s. And it reminds me of the film the great gatsby, of this atmosphere that can be felt when watching movies from that aera. Therefore the name.
Morgan cars are so special that a common german name like gunter, gerd, etc would not fit very well in my opinion. For a moment Edmund was another possible choice, it was the name of my grandfather, the nazis put him in a concentration camp because he was a member of the socialist party, but they let him out because they need his experience and working power in the coal mines, so we were very lucky. But I finally decided that even a so wonderful car like the Morgan should not be named after a beloved member of my family. it is just a matter of personal taste ;-)
