£45k retail for an Aero 8 S3 seems a little on the cheap side. I've just seen one in the £50's on car and classic.
The roof almost looks like a folding hard top the way the boot lip lifts above the base of the roof. How to make an already impractical car more impractical comes to mind....still, could always fit a roof rack!!

Great news the Aero 8 is back, but how much will it be. Could my wallet be tempted??

Isn't the roof inspired by the Plus 4 Plus?

That certainly doesn't look like a folding hard top to me - just a hard top. Nothing wrong with that and nothing new either for Aeros.
My point, Mr Coot, is that prices are likely to fall if Aero owners try to trade in on the new model and - remember - trade asking prices aren't the same as trade buying prices or retail prices!
When I nearly changed my Aero 8 S3 for the Hamster's Aeromax about 3 years ago, I was offered £42K from the dealer in part exchange (perfect condition 10,000 miles on clock - good colour etc.) or £45K likely price if they sold it on sale or return (ie. my risk). They would ask low £50's and expect to get about £50k but would need to put a warranty on it etc.
Private selling probably the best thing for good Aeros, and we certainly know where there are a few of those!!
The new one will have to be pretty exciting to make me want to change though. I was hoping for a GT3 or similar and that might get me going but otherwise it's looking unlikely...

Well I couldn't wait any longer and had to phone someone in the know. The summation is that it looks unbelievably good and the price is attractive. It would be wrong to say more, lets just say the waiting list could be back and I am definitely interested. Cant wait until next week.

The summation is that it looks unbelievably good Uhm... From what I heard, yes from a quality perspective. From a design one I am not sure. Already the Aero supersports for me was a compromise between design and functionality. I was in love with the look of the S1 rear with all its trad flavour (for the convertible) and the max (for the coupe) and the price is attractive. I imagine that the list of optional equipments will be loooooooong.

My personal view is that I don't think an Aero 8 is a car I would offer to trade.
You're absolutely right that you will always get a leaner price by doing so of course. However I believe there is enough demand amongst enthusiasts to sell privately such that selling to the trade is either the hassle free option or quicker option.
It will be interesting mind to see what does happen to current Aero prices once the new one is released. I'm of the mind the new one may be a limited number and therefore I suspect it will do very little to current Aero prices. But we'll find out next week for sure.
The profile picture of the new Aero 8 in Autocar (I think) has certainly wet my appetite mind and if the reveal in all it's glory is as stunning as I believe it will be.....I've already spoken to the wife and she's game :-)
