If you have a closer look to the sidescreens near the door pillar you will see a seal. I guess it is a DHC like the VW EOS or Mercedes SLK with a hard roof.

Reading all the different thoughts and speculation about the new Aero 8 has been very interesting. Looking at the latest photo released it does give the impression that there could be a folding hardtop. This got me thinking as to who would supply the mechanism. Which manufacturer makes a sports car with a simple folding hardtop and also is a supplier to Morgan? No,not BMW,but Mazda. They provide the gearboxes for the Three wheeler and make the MX5 which has a folding hardtop that looks not too dissimilar to the roof in the teaser photo.

Indeed, and yet may provide the auto box for the +4......if MMC ever get round to completing that project.

I doubt morgan would want to add a complicated and heavy mechanism to what is now being called a supercar . The bi fold would also add yet another potential water problem which has not helped the sales of morgan cars in General .I guess it's a fixed head or ,a detatchable fixed head saving weight and development costs ,and a dry cabin at last . Good luck MMC I hope it's a winner .

I had the same thought this morning regarding the MX5 Roadster folding hard top. In terms of calling it a supercar with a folding hard top....that didn't stop Mercedes calling the SL63/65 AMG a supercar or Porsche calling the 911 Targa 4S one either.....manufacturers will call them what they want...it's for us the public to truly decide if they're supercars I guess. Thinking of going to Geneva now!!!
