Hello everybody

Very exciting to post for the first time on the Talk Morgan forum. Knowing really nothing about Morgans, I am now a Morgan owner (hoping to become a fan).

In my thirties I drove a 82´911. Been there - done that! Have had several different motorcycles over the years - nothing really posh - now only a Vespa 200 2 stroke left. Feeling a bit finished with bikes too... (not the Vespa though)

Getting close to 50 I felt the urge to look for something.... Something "roadwise" again, to motor a bit on sunny days (if any - this is Norway). Not wanting a bike, nor really a sportscar (i Norway anyway - bad roads/low speed limits) I ended up buying a Morgan 3 wheeler, without really considering for long. Slightly spontaneous there, but my wife was supportive. (and that IS a good thing)

Bought from the official Morgan distributor i Norway, located in Oslo. It is a 2014 model, registered for the first time now in February 2015. I have never driven one, I have never seen one "live". It is a pure "hope this is right for me"-thing, bought via email and telephone.

Now the Morgan is waiting for me in Oslo, and I am waiting for the Norwegian winter to let go...to cross the mountains, bringing it home to Bergen. Aiming for mid-april-ish.

Very exciting....and a bit scary! It is a lot of money for a strange car that I know little about.

I have read/viewed tests, and they are (more or less) all talking about the pure joy of riding this car. Back to basic - all mechanical. My hope is in those few but important words. Maximizing the pure fun of just driving on normal, not-so-good roads. All senses receiving impulses (even rain in the face)...

And in the winter-resting-season just sitting in the garage polishing...enjoying the pure look of a very odd car...together with a beer. A dreamer I am.

"Not something for everyone - but everything to someone". Maybe? :-)

Best R,
Helge

Welcome Helge
You will love it.

First time out I found the clutch a little fierce, however you get used to it very quickly. Also I found I couldn't place the passenger side wheel all that well and tended to drive closer to the middle of the road than normal. Soon got the hang of it thought.
Look forward to your first post drive post.
Cheers
Matt

Hello Helge,

I think you will have a lot of fun with this car.
The first time I drive one (last summer), I can't stop grin broadly.
Half a year later I bought mine.

You will be happy with it!

Sounds great and a warm welcome from Lancashire, England
I like a bit of spontaneity
I've never test driven a car before ordering one either

Welcome, again from down-under. What a great place to own a Morgan, I spend a fair amount of time in and around Oslo.

Welcome. I know you WILL love it. I had mine delivered even though our winters are less severe, they still salt the roads. Enjoy

Welcome to TM Heige.

You won't regret a single moment of your decision to order it blind. That first journey will be the most fun of your life and then there will be any more to follow. Having driven the M3W many times it is a complete hoot. Start practising your waves & grins & be prepared for lots of people taking photos. Having driven the first one into South Africa the reaction was greater than off I was cruising around in a space rocket!
