Hi again from Ceredigion....slight change of plans ..instead of ordering a new Plus 4 I have bought a new Plus 4 that was in stock at dealers in Exeter...it has all the toys that I wanted ,is in an acceptable colour Velvet Green with Mulberry leather and at the old price. Am taking delivery on 2nd of March .
Planning to change the standard steering wheel to the ubiquitous Mota Lita woodrim but am unsure as to whether to go for 14 or 15 inch diameter... what are the thoughts of other Plus 4 drivers?
Regards
Gerry

Gerry you should consider the clearance between your knees and the wheel. If you are tall or have long legs a smaller wheel may be of assistance. Clearance of the instruments may be another concern to consider. If you like an unobstructed view you should consider while size of Mota Lita allows for this. Finally the smaller the wheel the less easy it is to turn at slow speeds.

I trust this will be of some help and wish you many happy miles in your new Mog.

Gerry,
Lucky you!! happy3 Many happy miles with your Mog. On the subject of a steering wheel, I have a 14in wheel on my 4/4. As the new +4's have bearings in the steering I am quite sure you will be OK with a 14in. I also have an Offset wheel so there is more clearance below the wheel, but there is also clear vision of the instruments. I like it as it seems to be the best of all worlds.

Cheers!

...don't forget, the height of the wheel can be adjusted on the later cars - this may make things a lot easier...

Have decided on 15 in Moto Lita woodrim Derrington pattern for the new Plus 4 ..looks very similar to the one that was fitted to the LM62 4/4 I owned a few years ago ...Incidentally I was so disappointed with that car...very underpowered ..engine fan which screamed all the time...instruments that steamed up to the point of being unreadable...hardtop that didnt fit...tyres that made the car very twitchy ...carpets that fell to bits etc ...etc .
Sorry if that has upset anyone but I thought the car was a real lemon.
Regards
Gerry
