The saga continues. After going down to the tyre fitters, I found that 3 were made in Malaysia and 1 in Japan. After reading DaveW"s post with reference to the MG problems, I rejected the Japan one. Blackcircles were not that impressed and pleaded complete ignorance. The comment that the supplier would not want to look through their stock for one tyre was not music to my ears. swear He went away to talk to their Customer Services. Needless to say, they are now looking for the correct tyre manufactured in Malaysia. I shall wait and see what happens next. smile

With a name like Toyo...I would have thought you'd accept the Japanese made tyre and rejected the others! wink

Unfortunately they moved the manufacturing to Malaysia in September 2014, so all Toyos will be made there. They also changed the specification at the same time to meet some EU directive, which is probably completely meaningless and just adds to the idea that EU bureaucracy is alive and well.

Interesting enough the tyre fitters rejected the first delivery because they were dated 2011. Ok if you do 20000 miles a year but not much good if you only do 2000-3000 a year.
