I'm just buying a replacement air filter for my filter box to hopefully get a bit more air flow and increase the noise on my new sports exhaust and manifold

I've got a K&N code of E-2360 and the equivalent ITG of BH 114

From digging around, I've found out that the air intake box is likely from a 1999 Rover 825 and many more Rovers before it

Anyone had any experience with either and/or any mods to the air intake that doesn't induct hot air from around the engine but is easy to do to get more clean air through?

The Rover box as fitted to a +4 with the T16 engine had a flexible hose towards the front of the car.

I fitted the K&N

sounds the same as mine - the flexible hose inlet is fixed to the side of the inner wing just forward of the front bonnet catch

Has anyone fitted a funnel type air duct to the front of the hose to scoop a bit more air?

Oils the filter to trap the dirt. They come pre oiled & don't need redoing for a long time

Hello,
I suggest you to remove the air filter box and replace it with an open air system from K&N. I fitted this system on my 2009 4/4 Sport ad it works well.
If you want I will send you some pictures
