hi,

my glove box has no "door"
everything slides out of it ("ramp" is outside instead of inside)

can I order a "door" for it,
or is it "stock" and did they just "forgot" to mount it at the factory??????

Ours came with a door as part of the 'walnut veneer' option - did not notice a chance to buy the door on its own...

Its only the Walnut veneer option that has a door. Painted and standard black are just a hole gloomy
Waiting on my new +4 with a painted dash and a hole.

Newish roadster should have the lozenge shaped door/hole, I like the new magnetic catches for these, the older door such as my wood dash 99 4/4 is a pain to get open without the key.

It is a help to put/lock away low value items when car is open.

Might be worth a wood dash upgrade, they certainly look nice.

Hey, Tokkie1560, no door is the price to pay for the originality of your so nice black & hermes roadster! smile

On mine, with the clasic wood board, there is a door (with invisible magnet locking).

To be honest, the glove box is usefull for, heu.. 1 pair of thin holed gloves and a little piece of fabric. Not more.
If you put too much inside it, it will press on the wheepers mechanism.

So no door can be considered as a Plus Feature and an accelerometer as well: after a toll stop it mesures the acceleration from 0kmh to 130kmh.
(tested by Mrs H3, as the driver, with my cigarets pack and my zippo falling on my laps from the unlocked glove box...)

Hi,
there exist a simple cheap issue to your problem.
You go to Auto-5 and buy a antisliding mat which is
sold on roller of one meter (for car trunk) and easily
cut.
You can cut the piece you want and put it in the
glove box, as it's black it's invisible and really
efficient (I've put some pieces in my "every day
business car" and it works well, every item stay on
place when braking hard or cornering speedly).
Best regards.

Another idea I've found in order to solve
the lack of space for item in my +4 :
I've bought 3 "vide-poches" in a Longchamps
shop.
2 are located in front of the seats behind the
galvanised cross member, the other one is located
behind the gear lever.
They are made of fine leather with press buttons
and exist in many colors, easy to combine with the
leather of the interior.
And, they are cheap (30 euro each..).
It's looking fine and seems to be genuine.
Best regards.

I mounted a piece of wood in the glove box with a spring which bears on the back of the latch. Push the release button & the spring pops the door open about 10mm. See http://www.shirevillageinns.co.uk/mog/latch.jpg
