Hi. Does anyone know where I can get my pair of Girling brake calipers reconditioned? Or if anyone does an exchange service?

Cheers

What needs doing? If it's just the seals it's not a difficult job.

I have rebuilt 5 caliper in the last few years are replaced two other sticky calipers with recons.

The recons have lasted the time.

Two of the re seals are still working the other three seal jobs have failed.

You just cannot make an older caliper with a less than perfect bore into a silk purse.

The Pistons have ceased, new seals needed and they could do with a bit of TLC

Could be worth replacing the pistons with stainless ones as well as the seals.
Corrosion is a major cause of sticking pistons so check the bores.
As long as any corrosion that may be there has not affected the bores of the cylinders you will be ok.
Also, use a good spanner of correct size for the pipe fittings/bleed nipples.
Whilst at it also replace all the fluid...it should be done every 2 years or so.
Not expensive and a lifesaver!

Chances are there is somebody nearer Hereford offering to recondition calipers with stainless steel pistons. I use this firm for brake shoe re-lining, but they're not that far from me or my brother (think he picked up my last order).
