Any opinions / experiences with a Moto Lita offset wheel ?. I'm considering fitting one.

I had one on my Plus 8. It helped a little with extra knee room getting in and out provided it was parked in the straight ahead position. Never really got used to the look of it though.

If it helps the ingress and egresss I would definitely go for it.Out of choice visually not though it does look out of balance.

Fit an old Austin Allegro quartic wheel - much better!

Alternatively have your knees reversed - this helps a lot but you may end up being nicknamed Ostrich by your friends.

It's not the getting in and out it's the legroom. I currently have a 12" wheel fitted on a 2002 4/4 and I find it very uncomfortable - the wheels too close to me for comfort, and too small. I can't get a shorter boss, already tried another Moto Lita one which was only about 1/2" shorter. I thought that this might just be a solution, but haven't seed one fitted to another car.

Have you tried fitting the wheel to the inner face of the boss rather than to the outer face? I have done this with a Moto Lita and it puts the wheel slightly further away from the driver. You have to remove the boss from the steering column to do this. If there is enough clearance from the control stalks (indicators et al) you could also fit a spacer ring to gain another few millimetres of space.

I had a wood rim one on +8 which was short, it really helped getting in and out, although I am relatively thin at 12 stone.

Williams do a slightly shorter boss...I've fitted it to my Roadster, but my wheel has gone up a size to 15"! But the further away from you, the closer the wheel to your legs I'd have thought.
