I have a black BMW 320 estate.

There is an unmarked black BMW 320 Estate used by one of te local Police forces - we are on the border of Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset, so not sure who it belongs to.
So what happens if I clone the plate from that car and then do something "naughty"?

If caught with the false plates you will be fined for it. Possibly done for impersonating a police officer too!
As for the "naughty" thing....depends on what and the corroborating evidence to ID you personally.
Photo evidence on a speed camera for example.
It's not rocket science....you have to be caught to be done.
Like someone reporting you for drink driving/no insurance. You would have to be caught in the act, not just the say-so of someone.
Simples!....

But having caught you, they could take the opportunity to make an example of such reprehensible behaviour, whereupon you might find yourself denied bail and banged up on remand. You could end up sharing a cell with Big Merv, who along with his predilection for carving scenes from Homer's Odyssey into the flesh of his victims, also likes to play 'Mummies and Daddies' once the lights go out. A few weeks of that, and you'll be more than happy to confess to any unsolved crimes they might have on their books, and consequently spend the rest of your days slopping out in B wing of some godforsaken hell hole far away from Tarka. So, you need to ask yourself the question "Do I feel lucky?"

We had one of the company cars cloned a few years back and the first we knew were the arrival of bus lane and yellow box fines.
We disputed these and the argument was rejected, fortunately all our vehicles are fitted with trackers so we went back and provided the logs so they claims were dropped. How we would have proved this without these records is impossible to know.
This was then followed by police phoning the office as the car had failed to stop at an accident, again we could prove it wasn't in the area but they suggested changing the number plate.

Big Merv is named quite aptly, by all accounts. It is reccomended that if you are sharing his cell you take the following items..... LARGE tub of Vaseline Bullet to bite Crotchless underwear Love Hearts sweets...he likes them High heels so he has less stress on his knees Red lipstick...he is running out Use a French accent when speaking to him An octopus......nobody knows why yet...
