Has anyone found out or know what the spec of the paint finish on the painted wheels are yet ? According to the MWS website .... The MWS wire wheels are primer coated using Cathodic Electrophoretic technology. This increases the corrosion resistance to very high levels. A topcoat of silver ash or black follows this. The paint system provides salt spray resistance of 840 Hrs when tested and evaluated on panels as per ASTM B117. Not sure if that means they are powder coated or not...!

As far as I'm aware, electrophoretic coating is when the item is charged and dipped into a tank of liquid which makes the coat. So not, it's not like powder coating at all, except in the sense that the coating sticks to the surface being coated via an electric charge.

The top coat I would imagine is EPC (Electrostatic Powder Coating). The salt spray test however does not give a good indication of longevity of the coating in real environments however its an Automotive standard test which is used almost universally even for steel parts inside the car such as the metal in seat belts with a plated surface.

Just been on the MWS website for the first time
It's pretty good and it's quite pleasing to see that the painted and chromed wires for a Morgan are not ridiculously expensive if I ever needed to get hold of some

I have MWS s/s wires which I bought in 2007 to replace to replace the original chrome wires (2004 built 4/4) as I didn't want to spend hours cleaning and polishing. 7 years on the s/s wires are like new and only ever get washed. Worth every penny IMO. Nigel.
