Is the auto box on a Aero S4 sealed for life or is there a dipstick to check the fluid level that I haven't found?
if there is a dipstick, where is it please?
Thanks

I think it is sealed, best talk to a BMW specialist. It is a ZF 6 speed box and is widely used, details here.

ZF6HP26

I did a quick web search, this may help, it describes how to change the fluid and filter:

Fluid Change

Good luck....

Give Mark Baldwin a ring at the factory thought you just had a morgan service,If sealed for life oil change is possible via the oil cooler on some cars doubt very much that theres a dip stick..

Not sure about that particular box but friends with 6 and 7 series BMW's tend to take there cars to the ZF workshop in Glasgow. Where they do either a fluid change or in higher mileage cars say over 100k they do a valve block change out on the ZF auto box.

There are lots of earthmoving equipment with ZF autoboxes and that manufactures workshop is kept busy.

In reality most Aero's will never get to these mileages.

And a relatively light car will wear its gearbox less than a heavier one...

Yes, just been serviced at factory but I do like to check things myself as mistakes can happen during a service or just get overlooked.
