Often seemed to me that we men are prone to enthusiasms. Something new comes along and its a key part of our lives - until something else replaces it. Particularly the case with our toys, whether they be cars, bikes, boats or ( dare I say it?) women.

So I am wondering just how long a Morgan obsession lasts.

Obsession about 25 years, ownership has been 14 years to date. The gap between the 2 is put down to having two kids and a mortgage ;-).

My obsession of wanting to own a Morgan has so far lasted 40 years & was achieved 2.5 years ago. As it currently stands, it will last as long as I can physically walk across our courtyard, open the garage doors and get in and drive it. So hopefully, for many more years yet!

My MG obsession lasted 35 years.
My MrsW obsession has lasted 39 years and is still going strong.
My Morgan obsession really began in 2003, when I had the means to get one, (and joined the club). It then took five years to persuade MrsW, so for me the intent and obsession has lasted 12 years so far.

I guess my interest was sparked when Charlie Curtis test drove each new car along the Lower Howsell Road in Malvern, where I lived from the age of 3 to 13.

I bought my first +4 wreck in 1968 , and have had at least one Morgan ever since. My misses came long much later, so she knows her place in the pecking order

It has been almost a lifelong obsession.

I started obsessing in 1968 when the plus 8 was announced. Started seriously trying to buy in 1980 ish(! After a visit to the factory), a couple of very patient friends stayed with me as I chased cars (they used to sell before you could get there).finally got one mid 90s I think. Still obsessed. I love em with big engines and with small engines, with sidelights and without sidelights, with three wheels and four wheels, with bench seats and with individual seats, in cold weather and in hot weather, with hood up and hood down, sidescreens on and sidescreens off, each drive seems to be the perfect one and I still look for longer routes to delay arriving. Except of course to arrive home to my wife, my other obsession of 56 years.

Ps. My children grew up shouting "morgan alert" from the back seat of our family cars, long before I got one.
