I will be selling my 2004 VW LHD California in the next month or so as I use my Morgan +tent to attend Historic races + shows so I am looking for ideas from you mature, sensible Morgan folk for a car with the following requirements:....

4 door classic able to keep up with modern traffic.
Pre 1974 if possible

Will only be used to take my elderly parents shopping and days out.
10,000 pounds budget
Perhaps Volvo Amazon or similar ?

Have fun and thanks for your ideas !!!!!

Rover P5 Lovely car

Dermot Wallace Motors in Dublin have what looks like a beaut for sale at £9,330! (12,995 Euro) Similar to the one in the picture. (Though the picture is a P5B with the 3.5V8). The P5 has the silky smooth 3.0 straight 6 engine.

Whilst an Amazon would be good, as exVolvo I would say that, how about something like a Rover P6?

+1 for a P5B - I've got a 1972 Coupe which gets used in all weathers on all roads, touch-wood it's been 100% reliable, the V8 easily keeps up with modern motorway traffic and I think it's probably quieter than the Aero at speed (although that might be the fault of boshly's side exhausts wink )

I also think the styling is improving with age, seems to get more appreciated now than it did 10yrs ago when I got it...

I'd go for the P5 or P6. Both lovely cars.

Rover P5B would be my choice. I was considering getting one as my daily driver a year or so back.
