Temporary repair with Hylomar seems to be holding up. The gasket is reasonably tough, but did get creased when taking the rocker box off, so i agree, change every time the cover is taken off.
The root cause of the leak was not the gasket; it was the socket screws holding the cover on slackening with vibes over the life of the car.I do recommend a precautionary tweak as the other cover did take a small bit of tightening.
Sad really, but I did not even consider going to Morgan for them as Grizzlys have the ability to get S&S spares and have proven themselves with the cam belt.
