The new static display version of the M3W is likely to be the most reliable of all as it doesn't have an engine with any internal parts, has only a dummy compensator, no gearbox, bevel box and no drive belt or sprocket either.
"Fred Flintstone drive" is the new catchword and is achieved by just making the holes in the floor a bit bigger. A brake pedal is retained, and steering and suspension is still there, so the car looks from the outside almost identical to a motorised one.
At just £18,000 incl VAT and without car tax (in the UK) it is a comfortable place from which to watch tv or listen to the radio and makes a great focal point for a lounge or family room. Not much more than a fancy 2 seater leather settee.
