Yes, but hang on here people - it's a great gearbox, no reported faults to date! Oh, I've just remembered, it's made by Mazda in Japan.

I started my engineering apprenticeship in 1979, then went on to do a HNC in mechanical engineering. I was a production engineer also known euphomistically as a professional bodger until 1992 then went into the gas industry.
Is being a time served engineer a pre requisite to M3W ownership, probably not but it helps.

I bought used and sold it again two months later, when I realised that all but the shell (and now, apparently the shell too) would have to be swapped to get me the vehicle I wanted. It sound like you're getting miffed that we had a laugh pointing to these things. Did you notice the latest report on failure on this site, wrt the steering? Although he is new on here, and didn't post pictures, so not confirmed, it is rather funny in a tragicomic sense that the blunders just keeps showing in that vehicle.

What you say is true AQM , welcome back by the way where have you been ? But despite all the problems ,and after just over 14500 miles , when they are going well there really is no better means of transport

Pretty good, although I have had to retrain with a new left leg and so forth.
I agree that the M3W is very good fun, but I now have my heart set on a Speedster-sort of Plus 8 if I can swing it for a toy. Seems like it would be closest to an M3W in spirit, yet have very few of the problems.

A Speedster-sort of Plus 8 would suit me very well too but sadly I have very little chance of swinging it !
