I have just registered recently with Talk Morgan and wanted to introduce myself.

Cars are one of the great passions in my life. Having hankered after a Morgan since childhood I have just ordered a new Aero 8 Series 4 4.8 with the automatic gearbox which will arrive in May. It's finished in Stingray grey and has the optional side exit exhausts and rear diffuser.

Looking forward to watching talk Morgan and contributing.

It will be interesting to compare the Aero 8 with my previous sports cars.

Kind Regards to all,

Robert Simpson

Welcome Robert, you'll fit in here just fine! wine

Have you bought your car through RPM?

What colour interior have you chosen?

You mention previous sports cars, many of us have (and continue to dabble with other 4-wheeled fun flag ), what cars will you be comparing the Aero 8 to?

We often have the conversation about what the natural competitor to the Aero is, and more often than not, the only name we can come up with is the Wiesmann. It'll be good to hear what standards you will be judging the Aero by.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the welcome.

The car that I have purchased is a new Aero 8 which Berrybrook Morgan have in stock. The month of May tends to be the best for weather up here hence the logic of waiting until then for delivery.

Berrybrook have been fantastic to deal with - very gentlemanly. They are however a bit far away for servicing! That said would be tempted to take it back to the factory.

I had intended to factory order the car but the recent 4% increase applied to new build Aero 8's made that seem inappropriate given the economic circumstances. The car that I am getting is exactly the same specification that I would have ordered with the exception of the colour of the interior - would probably have opted for red leather. I am delighted with it.

The main car (amongst many others) that I have owned in the past and will inevitably judge the Aero 8 against is the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale. It's the best drivers car by far that I have driven - immense visceral noise, ultra light and rigid chassis, fantastic paddle shift gearbox, ground effect aerodynamics, incredibly sharp and responsive steering and truly incredible ceramic brakes. On the surface the ethos of the Aero 8 is very different to the 360 CS. I don't expect the Aero 8 to match the handling finesse of the Stradale and although there are some similarities - the lightweight construction for one - at the very least it is an interesting, characterful alternative that I hope to own for many many years.

I am aware of the Wiesmann and would agree that it is the only natural competitor to the Aero 8. Suspect build quality and engineering are top notch.

Look forward to speaking again.

Hi Gerry,

Thanks for the welcome.

It's reassuring to hear that you have also had a good experience with Berrybrook.
