Hi Guys, anyone out there had this problem?2011 duratec +4, heater only blows luke-warm/cold air.All pipes to and from the heater box are hot to the touch, the temperature reads 90 degrees,I have replaced the thermostat and made sure there is enough coolant in the system.
The missus is not impressed!

The cable is held at the heater end quadrant with a metal clip that holds the outer in position, quite common for the cable to slip or the clip to become detached, I have a photo somewhere (think I even posted it on here yonks ago) but when on the laptop I will post. If the pipes are hot to and from its the cable adjustment for sure.

Just found the picture it's on page 15 of the galleries sorry but not a clue how to link to it on an iPad, I struggle on the laptop ;-). You can see the clip and how if it slips will affect the heater temperature, there should be 6 clicks on the dash heater knob but anything around 5/6 is good, I have tried to adjust mine more than once and it slips back to 5 but that gives Good heat......if it works I might have found how to post from galleries....;-)

Yup that will be it, undo the clip, put knob (after you Vicar) in the fully hot (right) position, turn the quadrant to fully hot and refit the clip, if the outer cable slips you can try to pack with a round of insulation tape to make the outer a tad thicker.

I noticed when I had the dash off on my 2011 Plus 4 that an electrical ribbon cable was being fowling the heater control. I moved and tied it out of the way.

My heater control now covers an arc of about 230 degrees.

When we purchased our car we had the same problem. I thought there were only 3 clicks on the knob. When I was told there were 5 I used a little more force. I had been worried about using too much force and breaking something. After a short while it became much easier to turn.

I`m glad I am not the only one to think only 2 clicks when really there were 5 - it went into the works 4 times for repair before this was pointed out!!!

I had the same problem on my Roadster...
When I took the dash off the wiring loom Jay's mentioned was marked, but not damaged. A layer of neoprene tape and careful use of zip ties = job done!

"Don't worry Sir, they all do that....." oldgit
