Richard,

I only disconnect the fan for a few minutes. Temperature goes up to 105 degrees and than I reconnect the fan. The noise was present the whole time and yes the noise is all the time during driving and when the car is stationary. I put also some belt spray on the belt to exclude this also. It is not the belt. I have no more idea and will try to drive to the service tomorrow.

I would try cleaning the belt pulleys with someting like brake cleaner.
I had a noise on my plus8 and took the belt off...it was perfect. Before replacing I thoroughly cleaned the pulleys and the noise has disappeared. I sprayed some cleaner on a rag and wiped the pulleys..didn't want ovespray anywhere.
Worth a try as it's a simple thing to do.

Re the water top up...is this a one off or is it a regular requirement?

gloomy

water pump defect, no leakage but shaft seal to the seal face makes this loud noise.

Need new pump, does anybody of you know whether Morgan use in the GDI engine the same pump as FORD is using in Europe for their GDI Turbo engine. To get the pump from Ford is for sure much quicker than from Morgan.

Thanks

Good that you've found what it is. Sounds like a warranty issue to me so would it be best for the dealer to resolve?

For interest I have tried to find which Ford cars use the 2.0 gdi engine - my findings so far indicate the most common is the Focus - but unfortunately the 2.0 gdi model is not available in Uk or most other European countries. Therefore, not sure whether spares for it would be available through the Ford network in these countries. The new Mazda MX5 has a 2.0 GDI variant - maybe this uses the same engine as I believe the Ford 2.0 gdi is originally derived from a Mazda 2.0 Gdi (from when Ford owned Mazda). Anyone know?

That is correct Richard. Therefor was my questions whether somebody knows if the GDI Turbo which will be used in Europe has the same water pump. So we could order that one.

It is pretty clear that it is a warranty issue but that won#t help when it take weeks or month to get the pump from Morgan.

Maybe contact Ford and ask - the engine is on sale in the UK as a crate supply direct from Ford - with all the ancillaries eg water pump, alternator etc - so maybe it is the same in Germany?

See 2.0 GDI link on following page:

http://www.ford.co.uk/experience-ford/AboutFord/Fordcomponentsales/Specification-details-data-sheets

If it is, it is possible that the engine will be on Ford's parts database and you can order spares for it at your Ford dealership. Believe (but not certain) German contact for Ford component parts are
