That is very odd, you should always replace pads in pairs to both brakes at the same time. Could it possibly be that they are different right and left of each disk and someone has put two rights on one side and two lefts on the other if you see what I mean? Morgan agree it is both odd and unacceptable. They are collecting the car today and will replace pads, discs and anything else they feel needs replacing. An excellent response, Mark Evans was more than concerned. This has gone a long, long way to strengthen my confidence in MMC. I'll update this thread when I get the car back next week. They have assured me it will be ready for the TaffMog event. Peter

Nice result...if not unnecessary to start with.

I would agree an excellent response and one you have come to expect from Morgan but you have to ask how could this error happen on a car costing over 85K? I would assume they can trace back through the build records and attribute the error to the person responsible.

Worthers +8 I know Mark is determined to find out, and if it can be traced to an error at MMC the root cause will be delt with. But remember for 7 months of the car's life it was often out with third party users for road tests and so on. It isn't impossible that a third party, having cooked the pads, replaced them without telling MMC. MMC, once they were made aware of the problem, have acted promptly and correctly, yes it was a bit of luck that they had a driver and empty trailer passing this week. But It could have been driven, the brakes were working, even though the pads may not have been properly touching all the disc. The Plus 8 brakes are very good indeed, I never felt they were lacking, but the feel whilst better than the Roadster, wasn't perfect. I have high hopes that with new discs and pads it will be very impressive.

I have no doubt you being the vice chair and on here constantly had quite a bit to do with it,Phone calls will have been made but makes you wonder about the pdi prior to delivery and the fact your car is on the third at least set of tyres. You would have thought it would have been checked over duiring these changes. At least you get new discs and pads and they dont come cheap,a win win really.

I hope being Vice Chair of the Club had nothing to do with the level of service I get, indeed I know other Aero owners that the factory takes good care of.
I talked to Henry and Laurie at Williams about their PDI. The pads seemed to have sufficient life left, so they were not removed: why would they be? But it is surprising how much they wore in only 3000 miles since I took he car over. I hope new AP Racing pads last longer.
But a good point about the tyres, I know that it had a new set of ZZ3s when I got it, I was told it had used 2 other rears and one previous front. So it has had a hard life and I'd have been surprised if the pads had not been replaced.
It will, no doubt, all come out in the wash.

Peter.Owners of 100k Morgans should be well looked after, shame it hasent filtered down to some of the three wheeler boys on here. Some people do get special treatment so there we must disagree.
Hope you get your car back soon Em
